Senator Bice Announces Candidacy For Congress

  The Associated Press reports that OKC State Senator, Stephanie Bice will be filing for the 5th District Congressional office, next spring.
  The office is held currently by Kendra Horn, the lone Democrat in  Oklahoma's DC delegation.

  Republican Oklahoma state Sen. Stephanie Bice says she will run for the U.S. House against Democratic Rep. Kendra Horn in 2020.
  Bice said in a prepared statement Wednesday that Democrats who won the House majority in November have "embraced socialist policies and big government solutions" that she said threatens economic growth in Oklahoma.
  While not mentioning Horn by name, Bice said the state can't have a representative answering to Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi "and a far left socialist agenda."

The Bice for Congress campaign website adds the following..

  She received the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce Rising Star award and was selected a member of the Governing Institute Women in Government Leadership Class of 2016.
  A pro-life conservative, Stephanie has been endorsed by Oklahoma Right to Life and has maintained an A-rating from the National Rifle Association.
  Bice has degrees from Oklahoma State University in Marketing & International Business.

  Bice is a fourth generation Oklahoman and a graduate of Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City. She and her husband Geoffrey have two daughters. They are members of St. Eugene Catholic Church in Oklahoma City.
