Frank Grove of 'Yes On 788' took to social media, tonight; to ask Oklahomans to join his group's chorus of support for a special session this summer.
Grove and other proponents have expressed great appreciation for the Oklahoma Dept. of Health for having a solid framework of sensible regulatory proposals to institute and emergency rules governing the new initiative statutes. Grove isn't even saying that he believes the state needs more statutes. He is saying that the legislators need to step up this summer, before the people vote them in for a new term, and be on the record about their own intent regarding cannabis medicines. Other proponents are hopeful that the Health Dept. will continue their openness and cooperativeness with the public. Frank Groves is concerned that the posture of many politicians will be very different when they don't have an eminent general election to be concerned with. |
Grove wants to take on opposition leaders while they are in the current election cycle.
Two years ago, a collaborative pressed through a pair of reforms to remove the harshest felony sentencing guidelines for nonviolent simple possession of various controlled drugs. Some lawmakers waited until January and then vowed to nullify those reforms. However one lawmaker came up short when he was convicted of possession of marijuana and soliciting sex from a boy. |
Here's a rushed video put out by Yes on 788, regarding a call for a special session.
