The Oklahoma GOP has enjoyed a 'fairy tale' turnabout of fortunes in the past 30 years. Until recent history, the Oklahoma Democrat party enjoyed nearly 9 decades of dominance in every statewide office and super-majorities in both legislative chambers.
No one saw a lucrative career opportunity in conservative political consulting, because there was no money in it, nor opportunity for career resume-building. Tom Cole changed that narrative in 1994, when his consulting firm of Cole, Hargrave, & Snodgrass; orchestrated a major political earthquake. Since then, most well-financed Republican campaigns in Oklahoma have been working with campaign consulting firms. SoonerPolitics decided to sit down for a visit with one of the more recent additions to the consulting world. Josh Wagoner is a founding partner with Tomahawk Strategies. He's an Oral Roberts University alum.
