Surrounded by friends, family, and fellow citizens of eastern Tulsa County, Tressa Nunley celebrated a big win, tonight. Nunley surpassed 64% in a 4-way race. Her team included many political veterans from her home church. Shelly Brumbaugh (widow of former HD76 legislator, David; was in her support). Rep. George Faught and his wife, Becky, were key players in the effort. Becky served as campaign manager. Former Representative, Fred Perry also joined the team, as did Dan Hicks, who will be seeking an open seat as Weldon Watson completes his final term. Tressa now faces Karen Gaddis of the Democrat party. Gaddis is heavily supported by organized labor, Planned Parenthood, the Sierra Club, and other traditional left operatives. The general election is just 9 weeks away, on July 11th. |
