Just got home from the OK GOP State Convention and had to get my comfy shirt on that we each received as a “participation trophy”. ?
We elected a new State Chair and Vice Chair! Congratulations David L. McLain and Mike Turner, and adopted a state party platform of solid conservative values and principles. Read it here: https://gallery.mailchimp.com/…/2019_OKGOP_Platform_Final_P… Senator Julie Daniels did a fabulous job chairing the event. She kept order and articulated what we were voting on clearly. Thanks to Rep. Lewis Moore for cracking me up half the time. #backrow#cutups I was especially excited to have recruited some new delegates and hope to have more delegates to join us next time. So good to see a smoother process as the #basketofdeplorables worked well together to get stuff done! ?? ??? I might have even saw a few pigs fly as certain people agreed. ???? |

Several dozen convention-goers joined the new state chair & vice chair at Pickles Restaurant, just 2 blocks away from the convention site.
These folks came from all 4 corners of the state & many parts in between. When the McLain family arrived there was a huge cheer, and an impromptu speech from McLain. Frank Skidmore, on renewed energy
In 2017 I left our OKGOP State Convention discouraged. We had a convention that was dysfunctional and it seemed that our party was in the same state.
After the 2019 OKGOP State Convention, I left feeling energized! We have elected a State Chairman that seems fired up and ready to move our State Party forward! There is a lot of work to be done but I have no doubt that David L. McLain is up to the task! It’s time to get to work!
