| Obama's stagnated economy seems to be far back in our rearview mirror; unless you live in Oklahoma. Oklahoma's governor, legislature, & crony capitalists are all prescribing a toxic poison as the fix for insuring prosperity. Almost all of the massive new taxes that the governor is seeking to impose are designed to oppress the consumer, rather than close the corporate tax credits, exemptions, and other forms of corporate welfare. But a better solution would start with reducing the volumes of outdated regulations on small business. Most Oklahomans have no idea how many archaic regulations are still lurking in our statutes and regulatory policies. that is, until an eager and industrious citizen tries to start a small business and gets threatening orders from any of the several hundred boards and agencies who are ready to quash the initiative right out of the fella. Trump's first year is already more successful than Reagan's first two years were. But then Reagan didn't have the kind of example that he left as a legacy for Trump's mentoring. But Trump is an eager student and he quickly dropped the massive regulations that Obama imposed. |  |
Personal exemptions in federal income taxes are usually reflected in state income taxes. But the state legislature took preemptive action to deny us of the benefit. Now poorer people who owe no federal income tax will still get hit with state income taxes.
